| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, depicted with cuirass and paludamentum, the figure seen from the rear in three-quarter view, a rendering characteristic of Alexandrian coinage of the period. The emperor's head bears the radiate laurel wreath of imperial iconography. The surrounding Greek legend reads ΑΝΤωΝΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ ΕΥϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor with his title Sebastos (Augustus) and the epithet Eusebes (Pius). The flan is irregular, as typical of provincially struck billon tetradrachms of Roman Egypt. |
