| Reverse description | Draped bust of Sarapis facing right, the deity depicted wearing his distinctive kalathos (modius) atop his head adorned with a laurel wreath, with curly hair and beard rendered in the Hellenistic style typical of Alexandrian coinage. The date legend ΕΤΟΥϹ Β, indicating regnal year 2 (138–139 AD), is distributed in the field to either side of the bust. The composition reflects the close association between the imperial cult and the Alexandrian syncretic deity Sarapis. |
