A large round shield leans against the side of the throne at lower right. The date regnal legend L Ε (Year 5) appears to the left field, corresponding to the fifth year of Severus Alexander's reign in the Alexandrian calendar (225–226 AD). The composition follows the standard Alexandrian reverse typology, with Athena as a symbol of imperial wisdom and martial virtue. |
