| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Philip I (Philip the Arab) facing right, presented in three-quarter rear view, a distinctive Alexandrian rendering emphasizing the paludamentum and cuirass. The effigy displays finely engraved facial features with a short beard, consistent with imperial portraiture of the mid-third century. The surrounding legend in Greek reads Α Κ Μ ΙΟΥ ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟϹ ΕΥϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor with his titles. The coin is enclosed within a beaded border. |
