| Obverse description | Draped bust of Lucilla facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed and bound, rendered in the Antonine court style typical of Alexandrian provincial coinage. The portrait displays the characteristic high-relief modelling of the Alexandrian mint, with softly articulated facial features. The Greek legend surrounds the bust in the field, identifying the empress. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, consistent with hammered billon tetradrachm production of the period. |
