Obverse description Bare-headed and laureate bust of Lucius Verus facing right, draped and cuirassed, with the laureate wreath clearly rendered in relief. The imperial effigy is depicted in the Alexandrian provincial style, with the neck truncation visible at the base. The surrounding field carries the Greek legend Λ ΑΥΡΗΛΙΟϹ ΟΥΗΡΟϹ ϹΕΒ disposed around the portrait, the lettering partially worn but legible. The flan is irregularly shaped, characteristic of Alexandrian billon tetradrachm production of the mid-second century AD.
