The portrait is rendered in the typical Alexandrian provincial style, with the laurel wreath denoting imperial status. The Greek legend Λ ΑΥΡΗΛΙΟϹ ΟΥΗΡΟϹ ϹΕΒ runs around the periphery of the flan. The coin shows characteristic high-relief portraiture as seen on Alexandrian tetradrachms of this period. The flan is irregular, consistent with hammered billon coinage of Roman Egypt.
