At the base of the trophy, two seated captive figures are depicted in submissive postures, one to the left and one to the right, their hands bound, symbolizing Roman victory over barbarian foes. The regnal date legend L ΙΖ (Year 17) appears in the lower right field. The scene is rendered in a compact, deeply struck style typical of Alexandrian tetradrachm reverses of this period. |
