| Reverse description | The goddess Homonoia (Concordia) stands in three-quarter view facing left, her right arm raised in a gesture of salutation or benediction, while her left arm cradles a large double cornucopia overflowing with fruits and grain. She is draped in a long chiton and himation. To the left of the figure appears the regnal year date in Greek numerals: L Α (Year 1), corresponding to the first and only regnal year of the joint reign of Gordian I and Gordian II, 238 AD. The style is consistent with Alexandrian mint production of the Severan and post-Severan periods. |
