Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Galba facing right, rendered in the Alexandrian provincial style with characteristic bold portraiture. The legend in Greek characters encircles the effigy, reading ΣΕΡΟΥΙ ΓΑΛΒΑ ΑΥΤΟ ΚΑΙΣ ΣΕΒΑ, giving his titulature as Servius Galba Augustus. The regnal year LB (year 2) appears in the lower field.
