The couch is rendered with architectural detail, its legs and frame clearly delineated in the Alexandrian provincial style. The regnal year date in the field reads L ΙΖ (Year 17), corresponding to the seventeenth year of Antoninus Pius's reign, equivalent to 153–154 AD. The composition fills the flan with little remaining field space. |
