| Opis rewersu | Emperor Antoninus Pius, laureate and togate, seated left on a raised platform (tribunal), extending his right hand in adlocutio and holding a sceptre in his left hand. To the left, a male figure dressed in tunic, cloak, and trousers stands facing right, extending a crown toward the emperor and holding a sceptre; the scene evokes a submission or investiture ceremony. The regnal year date L Κ (Year 20, corresponding to 156–157 AD) appears in the field. The composition follows the formulaic provincial ceremonial type common to Alexandrian tetradrachms of this reign. |
