正面描述 Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, seen from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the characteristic Alexandrian provincial style, with bold, slightly stylized features. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΝΤωΝΙΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ ΕΥϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor by his title and the epithet Eusebes (Pious).

附加信息

Year 6 of Antoninus Pius's reign falls squarely within the period when the Alexandrian mint was producing its most ambitious allegorical types, and ΑΙΩΝ — the personification of eternity or the eternal cycle — was a concept the imperial administration actively promoted as inseparable from Roman rule over Egypt. The choice was not incidental: Antoninus had just consolidated his position after the anxious succession from Hadrian, and the eternal-order imagery carried pointed political weight in a province with its own deep cosmological traditions.

Billon tetradrachms of this regnal year circulated almost exclusively within Egypt; Roman currency law kept provincial issues from crossing provincial boundaries as legal tender.
