Reverse description Tyche, the personification of fortune and patron deity of Alexandria, is depicted seated left upon a throne, wearing a kalathos (modius crown) upon her head. Her right hand rests upon a long rudder set to the ground, symbolising guidance and providence, while her left arm cradles a cornucopia overflowing with fruits, emblematic of abundance. The regnal date legend L Θ (Year 9, corresponding to 168–169 AD) appears in the field, serving as the chronological identifier standard to Alexandrian tetradrachm coinage.
