| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Caracalla facing left, rendered in three-quarter view as seen from the front. The emperor is depicted holding a sceptre resting upon his right shoulder and a shield on his left arm, conveying an explicitly martial character befitting his reign. The surrounding Greek legend identifies the emperor by his imperial titulature. The portraiture reflects the provincial Greek artistic tradition of the Mesopotamian mint, with bold relief typical of eastern Roman coinage. |

| Reverse description | An eagle is depicted facing front with wings fully spread, its head turned to the left and tail also oriented left, holding a wreath in its beak — a common symbol of imperial apotheosis on provincial coinage. Between the eagle's legs appears a small shrine or naiskos with a triangular pediment, a distinctive iconographic element characteristic of the Edessan civic coinage of this period. The reverse legend, disposed around the eagle, records the tribunician and consular titles of Caracalla. The composition is bold and well-centred, consistent with the Syrian-Mesopotamian provincial mint tradition. |
