Reverse description The reverse depicts a military adlocutio or donative scene: the Emperor Antoninus Pius, laureate and toga-clad, is seated left on a raised tribunal platform, his right hand extended in a gesture of address or bestowal, his left hand holding a long sceptre. To the left stands a male figure dressed in tunic, cloak, and trousers, facing right, holding a sceptre and proffering a crown toward the emperor. To the right, a second similarly attired male figure stands facing left, raising one hand and holding a sceptre. The regnal year date, L Κ (year 20), appears in the field, corresponding to the twentieth year of Antoninus Pius's reign (AD 156–157).
