This issue falls within Trajan's first consulship after his accession — the ΔΗΜ ΕΞ ΥΠΑΤ Β legend dating it precisely to 98-99, before the Dacian campaigns reshaped the empire's military priorities and flooded the mints with war-issue coinage.
