Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing left, depicted with short curly hair and a slight beard consistent with his mature portraiture. The effigy is rendered in a naturalistic Hellenistic style typical of provincial civic coinage from Pontus. A beaded border frames the design. The Greek imperial titulature runs in a circular legend around the portrait, beginning at lower left and continuing around the field.
