| Obverse description | Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Maximian facing right, viewed from the rear, rendered in the late Roman provincial style characteristic of the Alexandrian mint. The emperor's effigy displays the radiating crown with pointed spikes, a paludamentum draped over the left shoulder, and the cuirass visible on the right side. The encircling Greek legend ΜΑΞΙΜΙΑΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ identifies the ruler as Augustus. The flan is irregular and somewhat worn, with patina obscuring fine detail. |
