Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Galerius (Caesar) facing right, seen from the front, with the emperor's portrait rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style. The legend ΜΑΞΙΜΙΑΝΟϹ Κ encircles the bust, identifying him by his imperial name Maximianus with the title Caesar (Κ for Καῖσαρ). The die workmanship reflects the late third-century Alexandrian mint style, with bold, slightly rough engraving characteristic of the tetrarchic period.
