Obverse description Radiate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Probus facing right, presented in three-quarter view from the front. The emperor wears imperial armour, with the radiate crown clearly rendered. The Greek legend surrounds the effigy in the field, reading Α Κ Μ ΑΥΡ ΠΡΟΒΟϹ ϹΕΒ, identifying him as Augustus. The portrait is rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style typical of late third-century billon tetradrachms.
