| Obverse description | Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Diocletian facing right, with radiate-like laureate wreath rendered in the Alexandrian style, the neck and shoulders clad in scale-decorated cuirass with visible paludamentum. The effigy is portrayed with a mature, bearded visage consistent with imperial portraiture of the Tetrarchic period. The surrounding field carries the Greek legend ΔΙΟΚΛΗΤΙΑΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ within a beaded border. |
