| Obverse description | Bare-headed, laureate bust of Commodus facing right, with long wavy hair visible beneath the laurel wreath, rendered in the provincial Greek style. The emperor's effigy is depicted in high relief with well-defined facial features. The circular Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan, broken at the base. The portrait reflects the characteristic iconography of Commodus as co-emperor and later sole ruler during the Antonine period. |
