| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, depicted from behind, with the laureate wreath clearly visible and drapery across the left shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the characteristic provincial style of the Cappadocian mint, with bold, slightly rough engraving typical of eastern provincial coinage. The obverse legend encircles the bust, identifying the emperor with his imperial titulature in Greek characters. The portrait shows the emperor with a bearded visage, consistent with contemporary representations of Severus on provincial issues. |
