| Beschrijving keerzijde | Standing female figure, facing left, identified as a personification of Victory or a fertility deity, holding two ears of grain extended over a flaming thymiaterion (incense altar) and grasping a long sceptre in the other hand. The composition is rendered in a provincial style characteristic of Carrhae coinage of the Antonine period. The reverse legend, invoking victory for Rome, encircles the field, with the alpha characters formed in the local lambdoid variant. The overall execution reflects the hybrid Greco-Roman artistic tradition of the Mesopotamian mint. |
