The effigy is rendered in a provincial style with somewhat flat relief. The Greek legend ΛοΥΚΙΛΛΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ runs around the periphery of the flan, identifying the subject as Lucilla Augusta, wife of Lucius Verus and daughter of Marcus Aurelius. |

The Greek votive legend ΥΠΕΡ ΝΙΚΗϹ ΤΩΝ ΚΥΡΙΩΝ, meaning 'for the victory of the lords (emperors)', runs around the field, a formula typical of Mesopotamian civic coinage struck in honour of the joint reign of Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus during the Parthian War. |
