The peripheral Latin legend reads IMP CAESAR VESPAS AVG COS III TR P P P, distributed around the effigy in capital letters.

Reverse description Ceres, goddess of grain and abundance, enthroned and seated left upon an ornate throne, rendered in flowing robes. She extends her right hand holding ears of corn and a poppy head, while her left arm cradles a large cornucopia; the mint control mark ΦΥ appears in the lower field below the throne. The encircling legend CONCORDIA AVG frames the composition, invoking Augustan harmony.
