| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Marcus Aurelius facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of the Carrhae mint. The emperor's beard is depicted in characteristic Antonine fashion, with curled hair beneath the laurel wreath. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, with the distinctive regional feature of alpha letters rendered in the form of lambda. The coin exhibits the slightly irregular flan characteristic of provincial hammered silver coinage of this period. |
