The figure is rendered in the Hellenistic tradition, with drapery visible around the lower body. The Greek votive legend ΥΠΕΡ ΝΙΚΗϹ ΤΩΝ ΚΥΡΙΩΝ ('For the victory of the lords') is distributed in the field around the figure, invoking divine favour for the co-emperors Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus during their Parthian campaign. |
