Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Marcus Aurelius facing right, with a bearded effigy rendered in a provincial style. The emperor wears a laurel wreath composed of prominent pellets and is shown with traces of drapery over the left shoulder. The surrounding Greek legend is partially preserved around the periphery of the flan. The portrait exhibits the characteristic artistic conventions of a Mesopotamian provincial mint, with somewhat schematic facial features and bold relief.
