The empress is depicted in the Roman imperial style, with drapery visible at the truncation of the shoulder. The Greek legend ΦΑΥϹΤΙΝΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ (Faustina Augusta) runs around the periphery of the flan. |

The Greek dynastic legend of the Abgarid king Mannos Philoromaios surrounds the design, with the distinctive epigraphic feature that the letter alpha is rendered in the form of lambda throughout the inscription. |
