正面描述 Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Victorinus facing right, rendered in the characteristic late third-century provincial style. The radiate crown is prominently rendered with diverging spikes. The legend IMP C PIAV VICTORINVS P F AVG encircles the effigy along the coin's border. The flan is slightly irregular, as is typical of Gallic Empire antoniniani, with a beaded border visible around the periphery.

背面描述 The goddess Fides stands facing left, rendered in full figure, holding a military standard in each hand, emblematic of loyalty to the army. The reverse legend FIDES MILITVM encircles the figure, referencing the allegiance of the military forces to the Gallic emperor. The style is typical of Gallic workshop production, with somewhat schematic but recognizable iconography. A beaded border frames the reverse design.

附加信息

Victorinus ruled the breakaway Gallic Empire for roughly two years before being murdered by one of his own officers — allegedly over a personal grievance rather than any political conspiracy. The FIDES MILITVM type, invoking the loyalty of the troops, was among his most frequently struck reverse types, which makes the circumstances of his death quietly ironic. His mint at Cologne produced prolifically under his reign, and the billon content of these antoniniani had degraded substantially from the silver coinage of earlier decades.
