| Beschrijving voorzijde | Radiate and draped bust of Postumus facing right, sometimes also cuirassed, rendered in the typical late Roman imperial style. The radiate crown, a hallmark of the antoninianus denomination, frames the emperor's portrait prominently. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP C POSTVMVS PF AVG, identifying the emperor with his imperial titles. The portrait displays the characteristic bold, somewhat schematic workmanship associated with the Mediolanum mint under the Gallic Empire. The flan is irregular, as is typical of billon coinage of this period. |
