| 背面描述 | The reverse depicts the Eleventh Labour of Hercules — the stealing of the golden apples from the Garden of the Hesperides. Hercules is shown standing at right, nude and muscular, facing left, receiving the apples from one of the Hesperides nymphs who stands before him at left, partially draped. A stylised tree with spreading branches occupies the upper field between the two figures, representing the mythological garden. The abbreviated legend HERCVLI ROM appears at right, referencing Hercules in his Roman civic aspect. The scene is rendered in the lively, somewhat provincial style of the Lugdunum mint under Postumus. |
