| Beschrijving keerzijde | Two standing figures face one another in the central field: Jupiter, depicted as a tall, mature deity holding a sceptre (or thunderbolt) in his left hand, extends his right hand toward a smaller figure of Maximianus standing opposite and receiving a Victory or wreath from the god. Jupiter is shown semi-draped, while the emperor appears in military attire. A mint control mark (C, D, or ɔ) appears in the field between the figures. The encircling legend VIRTVS AVGG proclaims the valour of the two Augusti, referencing both Diocletian and Maximianus as co-rulers. |
