| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximianus facing right, rendered in the robust military style characteristic of the Tetrarchic period. The radiate crown, composed of pointed rays, identifies the denomination as an antoninianus. The emperor's powerful, bearded portrait is shown in high relief, with the paludamentum (military cloak) fastened at the shoulder and the cuirass visible beneath. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP C M A VAL MAXIMIANVS AVG, running clockwise around the beaded border of the flan. |
