Reverse description Standing figure of Hercules depicted in the field, rendered in the characteristic Tetrarchic style associating Maximianus with the Herculian dynasty. Hercules is shown with his customary attributes, standing in a frontal or three-quarter pose consistent with the type catalogued as RIC V.2 363A for the Serdica mint. The reverse legend HERCVLI INVICTO AVGG encircles the design, with the mint control mark S appearing in the left field, identifying the Serdica workshop. The reverse composition reflects the deliberate dynastic propaganda linking Maximianus to the divine protector Hercules, counterpart to Diocletian's Jovian identity. The surface shows typical wear and granular billon fabric of the period.
