| Obverse description | Radiate, cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximianus facing right, depicted with a short beard, wearing a radiate crown and military cuirass with pteruges visible at the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the robust, martial style characteristic of the Tetrarchic period. The circumferential Latin legend reads IMP C M A VAL MAXIMIANVS P F AVG, identifying the emperor by his full imperial titulature. |

| Reverse description | The reverse depicts Emperor Maximianus, draped and cuirassed, standing and facing Hercules, both figures engaged in a joint sacrificial scene at a flaming altar placed between them. Maximianus holds a sceptre in his right hand, while Hercules, the divine patron of the Herculian dynasty, leans upon his club. The scene alludes to the emperor's close association with Hercules as his divine protector. The legend CONSERVATOR AVGG ('Protector of the Augusti') appears in the field, and the exergue contains the mint mark -/-//AXXI•HP, denoting the Siscia mint officina. |
