| Beschrijving keerzijde | The personification of Pax (Peace) depicted as a draped female figure standing facing left in a composed, classical pose. In her extended right hand she holds a statuette of Victory mounted on a globe, while her left hand grasps a long vertical sceptre. The reverse legend PAX AVGG proclaims the peace of the two Augusti, referring to the tetrarchic co-emperors Diocletian and Maximian. The exergue carries the officina mark III, denoting the third workshop of the issuing mint. The design reflects the propagandistic themes of stability and imperial concord promoted during the early Tetrarchy. |
