The emperor wears a radiate crown, his cuirass partially visible beneath the paludamentum draped over his left shoulder. A spear or sceptre is visible crossing behind the bust. The surrounding legend reads IMP C DOMITIANVS P F AVG in Latin capitals, partially legible on this irregular flan. The portrait is rendered in the somewhat provincial, boldly engraved style characteristic of the Gallic Empire mint workshops. |
