Obverse description Radiate, draped bust of Emperor Diocletian facing right, rendered in the characteristic late Roman imperial style with a prominent spiked radiate crown denoting the antoninianus denomination. The emperor's cuirassed shoulders are visible beneath the draped paludamentum, and the portrait exhibits the firm, authoritative features typical of Tetrarchic coinage. The encircling obverse legend runs along the coin's periphery in capital Latin letters. The flan is irregular, as is characteristic of hammered antoniniani of this period.
