He holds a long sceptre or spear vertically in his left hand, while his right hand extends downward holding a thunderbolt or branch. The figure is rendered with the sturdy, frontal clarity typical of Tetrarchic coinage. The reverse legend IOVI CONSERVAT surrounds the field, and the mint mark appears in the exergue, identifying the officina of the Ticinum mint. |
