| Reverse description | Jupiter, nude, standing facing left, holding a small figure of Victory on a globe in his extended right hand and a long vertical sceptre in his left hand; at his feet to the left stands an eagle, the god's sacred attribute. The composition presents Jupiter as the divine patron of the Augustan collegium, reinforcing the theological foundations of Diocletian's rule. The reverse field carries the legend IOVI AVGG, and a mark of value or workshop appears in the exergue. The overall style is consistent with the Lugdunum mint's production of the early Tetrarchic period. |
