Hercules stands to the left facing him, wearing the Nemean lion's skin draped over his left arm and holding a club in his left hand, with a small figure of Victory in his outstretched right hand. The two divine protectors of the Tetrarchy face one another in a composition emphasizing the dual theological foundations of Diocletian's rule, with a Greek numeral workshop mark in the field and the officina mark XXI in the exergue. |
