Obverse description Radiate and draped bust of Constantius I facing right, wearing a radiate crown characteristic of the antoninianus denomination. The effigy depicts the Caesar in cuirassed or draped military attire, rendered in the somewhat schematic late third-century style typical of Lugdunum workshops. The surrounding circular legend reads CONSTANTIVS NOB C, identifying the subject as Constantius in his capacity as Caesar under the Tetrarchic system. The coin shows the irregular flan typical of this period of monetary debasement.
