She extends a baton (rod) in her right hand and holds a cornucopiae in her left, with a globe resting at her feet — a standard iconographic grouping symbolising imperial providence and abundance. The reverse legend PROVID AVGGG is divided across the fields, with the letters S and P appearing as secondary field marks, while the mintmark C for Camulodunum is inscribed in the exergue. The triple G in AVGGG alludes to the political alliance of Carausius with two co-emperors of the continent, serving a propagandistic function. |
