| Obverse description | Radiate, draped bust of Carausius facing right, rendered in the imperial Roman tradition; some specimens also feature a cuirassed bust variant. The obverse legend encircles the effigy, reading IMP C CARAVSIVS P F AVG, identifying the emperor by his imperial titles. The portrait reflects the robust, somewhat irregular die-cutting characteristic of the Camulodunum mint during Carausius's secession. The radiate crown, a defining attribute of the antoninianus denomination, is prominently rendered above the brow. |

| Reverse description | The reverse depicts Providentia, the personification of divine foresight, standing draped and facing left. She extends a baton (rod) in her right hand and holds a cornucopiae in her left, with a globe resting at her feet — a standard iconographic grouping symbolising imperial providence and abundance. The reverse legend PROVID AVGGG is divided across the fields, with the letters S and P appearing as secondary field marks, while the mintmark C for Camulodunum is inscribed in the exergue. The triple G in AVGGG alludes to the political alliance of Carausius with two co-emperors of the continent, serving a propagandistic function. |
