| Obverse description | Central field depicts a large ship (nef) in full sail, with a quartered heraldic shield displayed prominently at the centre of the vessel, bearing lions and other armorial devices, surmounted by the initials M and B (for Margaretha of Brederode) beneath a cross. The ship is rendered in the late medieval style typical of angelot coinage, with stylised waves below the hull. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the circular Latin legend running along the outer rim between beaded borders. |
