Obverse description Hammered gold dinar of irregular flan with a central field bearing a three-line Kufic religious inscription within a plain inner circle. The central legend is enclosed by a decorative beaded border, outside of which runs a continuous circular marginal legend in Arabic Kufic script. The overall design is characteristic of classical Abbasid gold coinage, with no figural imagery, relying entirely on epigraphic ornamentation. The inscriptions are bold and deeply struck, with the field showing the typical slightly convex profile of hammered Islamic dinars.

Reverse description Reverse of this hammered gold dinar displays a central field with a four-line Kufic epigraphic composition enclosed within a plain inner circle and surrounded by a beaded border. The central inscription names the Abbasid Caliph al-Mustakfi Billah, identifying the issuing authority. A continuous marginal legend in Kufic script runs along the outer rim, recording the mint name and the year of issue in the Hijri calendar. The execution is consistent with late Abbasid hammered coinage, with squared Kufic letterforms characteristic of the mid-fourth century AH.
