Obverse description Two World War I soldiers in high relief dominate the field, depicted in full uniform with rifles, striding forward together. The lower half features the American Legion emblem in relief, comprising a five-pointed star with a central circle inscribed US, surrounded by a laurel wreath and the circular legend AMERICAN LEGION, set against radiating sunburst lines.
